2. Find a piece of land or an older house that could be demolished.

4. Make some solid plans.
The importance of planning a project with a scope and size of a new custom home cannot be understated.  Once you’ve assembled your team, you’re going to need to sit down with them and knock out some solid and realistic plans and a related timeline.  Make sure you plan for contingencies; budgets and timelines often need adjustments as you begin to execute your plans.

5. Get started.
You’ve designed your custom home, hired your team, obtained the right permits and secured your financing; now the only thing left to do is build your new house.
